Class Descriptions

These descriptions are for the new schedule, effective October 5th, 2009.

Beginners

The Beginners class is designed for those who have no muay thai experience. In this class you will learn the basic stance, movement, punches and kicks that form the foundation of muay thai. This class will be 90 minutes long.

Though class structure will vary from instructor to instructor, the basic format of the beginner’s class is as follows:

  • Warm-up: The warm-up generally incorporates skipping, conditioning exercises such as push-ups, core work, squats and stretching. The warm-up is designed to push you, so you are advised to go at your own pace.
  • Technique: After you are warmed-up, the instructor will guide you through basic techniques, utilizing pad work to practice the techniques of Muay Thai realistically while ensuring safety.

This program is perfect for those who have never done any martial arts and are looking to get in shape.
